Home Production Notes Kabuki Cover Gallery
David Mack (July 15, 2004): |
|
There are plans for a hardcover artbook that collects every single Kabuki cover ever made. With no logos, and probably over sized and showing the
sketches and art process for each one.
I'll keep you updated on this board when it is scheduled. |

There is an Art of David Mack book planned for release from Image. We are planning to do a series of oversized art books. The Scarab Art Book would be one of these, and we will probably start with an oversize book that includes each and every Kabuki cover, with sketches. So it may start with the Kabuki cover art book. And then follow with the Art of David Mack book that also includes a lot of non-comic book work as well as comic book stuff.
We have the cover art book scheduled for this year. |

"Hopefully I will have lots more Kabuki issues out in time for the Portland show. And a big oversized David Mack/Kabuki art book from Image." |
David Mack (December 11, 2003): |
|
Image wants me to put out an oversize format Art of David Mack hardcover (or a Kabuki Art Book with all David Mack art) before I do the Scarab Art book (which would have DM and Rick Mays art). |
David Mack (July 11, 2003): |

Still planning on doing the Scarab Artbook. Image wants to do a series of oversize artbooks with me, but they wanted the first one to be a book of all my art. So we'll start with an oversize collection of all of the
complete Kabuki covers, or an Art of Kabuki, and then do the Scarab artbook.
These will come out when the next Kabuki series is in full swing. |
David Mack (July 15, 2002): |
|
A lot of people have just started reading Kabuki from the collected volumes. They missed the original individual issues.
There are plans in the works to have a HUGE book that presents each and every Kabuki cover from every Kabuki related book EVER printed. It will print the art with out the logos, and it will also have the original sketches and preliminary drawings for each of the covers with comentary.
I get a lot of requests for a book like this.
I't's going to be a lot of work to put together, but I'm looking forward to it. So far I've just been calling it the KABUKI COVER GALLERY. Other suggestions are KABUKI COVER ART BOOK, or the KABUKI ART BOOK. |
