Check out this NEW site: davidmack.net
FRI, 7/11/03, 3:48 a.m. - In Response To: help with nohtv.com (chris richardson)

i have noticed that the site hasn't been updated since 2000. i am a web designer by trade and would be very interested in helping you with the upkeep of the nohtv site. for free. that's how much i love this f'in comic. it is incredible. let me know if there is anything i can do. thanks.
Hi Friends,
Thanks for offering your assistance. The truth is the NohTV isn't really my site. It was the first of what could be called a fan site. Now there are several other great fan sites. NohTV was constructed by Ron McElman when he ran a comic store some years ago. I really appreciate these sites built by devoted readers. I understand if they don't always have the time to update them regularly. Adam on this board also has a great Kabuki site.

Anh is currently constructing this site (davidmack.net) for my own official site.
It is not completely finished but it has great information for new readers to see what books are there and what they are about, and it has an updated book list to order from. It should be a great site to give someone who wants to know what each of the Kabuki books are about. I'll post updates as Anh adds more to it.

Your feedback and suggestions about the new site are welcome!
David

PS. Justin, can you please add this to the top of the list of sites as it has the most updated info? Thanks :}

Re: Circle of Blood TPB review
FRI, 7/11/03, 6:22 p.m. - In Response To: Re: Circle of Blood TPB review (tobie)
Still waiting for the shop where I ordered the next TPB to get it.
Sigh.
The wait kills me.
Mack! You read the review I made I hope.
Thanks for the insightful review!

It is too bad you have to wait for the shop to get the book. It seems like they would have them all in stock in the store all the time.
But I'm glad they are ordering them for you.

Looking forward to your thoughts on the other books!
Thank you,
David

Re: GI JOE?
FRI, 7/11/03, 6:27 p.m. - In Response To: GI JOE? (Dan)
so could this be the other major title david is writing?
Thanks for the confidence, but that is not the title I was talking about. I may end up doing a cover for GiJoe, but nothing is on the schedule.

Re: Whatever happened to the Scarab Artbook?
FRI, 7/11/03, 6:30 p.m. - In Response To: Whatever happened to the Scarab Artbook? (Dave Cummings)
I am just curious about that after seeing it mentioned in the back of the Scarab tpb. That would be something I would so want.

BTW David, see you in October at the Pop Culture con. I am trying to make sure to make it to the opening of your exhibition.

Thanks Dave,
Still planning on doing the Scarab Artbook. Image wants to do a series of oversize artbooks with me, but they wanted the first one to be a book of all my art. So we'll start with an oversize collection of all of the complete Kabuki covers, or an Art of Kabuki, and then do the Scarab artbook.

These will come out when the next Kabuki series is in full swing.

Re: Need Info On Scarab...
FRI, 7/11/03, 6:35 p.m. - In Response To: Need Info On Scarab... (Ken Blackwell)
... And who better to go to than straight to the source?

Mr. Mack, can you help me on this so I can put up a bio of Scarab on my site? Here's the info I need on her.

Hi,
Thanks for interest in Scarab for your site. I don't want to give out information that is not yet revealed in the books, but I can tell you that her first appearance is in the first Kabuki book ever printed called Kabuki- Fear the Reaper. It was printed in 1994. The Scarab series should cover most of the rest of the info for you.

Pleae post us a link when you get it on your site and we will check it out.
Best,
David

Re: Using DD images in fan art
SUN, 7/13/03, 1:00 p.m. - In Response To: Using DD images in fan art (awlrite4now)
I would like to create an art quilt using some of the images from issue #19 of Daredevil. I want to get your permission before I do a lot of work and find I shouldn't have.

The images would be reproduced in fabric and specialty threads in a collage type rendering. They will be recognizable as Mack images, but will be stylized a bit due to the fiber medium used.

Please, please, let me know immediately so I may proceed with this project. I have also inquired through your contact information.

This is the first in a hero series I have planned.
Thanks!

Sounds fine with me. Thanks for asking. And thanks for your interest in my work.
And I'd guess it should be fine with Marvel as long as it's not a project for sale on a mass level.

Re: Mack coming to San Diego
SUN, 7/13/03, 1:05 p.m. - In Response To: Mack coming to San Diego (Sean)
I need to know if Mack will be at the comic con in San Diego. If so what days and what times. Thanks.
I will be there the entire time. Wed - Sunday. Wed is 5pm to 8pm. Sort of a preview show that will be less crowded than the rest of the days.

Oeming, Bendis and I have a panel on Sat 11:30am.

Will be at the MOB (Mack, Oeming, Bendis) booth with them. ANdy Lee will be there too. We will have original art, books, t-shirts and all kinds of stuff.

See you there,
David

MON, 7/14/03, 11:04 a.m.

I recieved your recent letter and your package of photos!

Your words are very inspirational! What a dramatic and uplifting story... Thanks so much for the photos of your heart! I love the color copy photo technique of your real life collage.

I hope you realize how much I appreciate your artistic personality...

I think I've mentioned you in several various interviews and collaged some of your gifts, fabrics, papers, words. into just about every title I've worked on.

Here is to your big HEART!

David
