 Home Production Notes Daredevil Hardcover
David Mack (February 4, 2005): |
After he was asked when the Daredevil hardcover collection will be scheduled for production, David Mack replied: "I was talking to Bendis about that hardcover today. He says anytime." |
Amazon.com (January 3, 2005): |
According to Amazon.com 1, the story arcs in the fourth Daredevil hardcover, which is slated for release in September, were changed from Wake Up and Echo to King of Hell's Kitchen and The Widow.
1 The collection was removed circa January 22, 2005 |

What I said was that my contact at Marvel who does the Marvel trades hardcovers, Jeff Youngquist, had told me that it was not on track for the previous scheduled release.
That they were deciding if they should do it as a volume in the DD hardcover series, or if they should do it as a Daredevil VISIONARIES hardcover.
Someone else had told me that Amazon had a NEW and current listing of it, so I thought that meant they had an advance listing of the new offer of it.
I'm sure I'll here news about it soon as to what format the hardcover will be released in.
I'm sure they can't NOT do it. It includes Bendis' first ever DD story he ever wrote (which is also the first Marvel story he ever wrote).
And I know a lot of readers held off on the Echo trade cause they are waiting for the hardcover.
I'll update when I hear more. |
Amazon.com (September 10, 2004): |
According to Amazon.com, the upcoming Daredevil hardcover that will collect the Wake Up and Echo storylines will be available on March 28, 2005 (cover price: $24.99 - pre-order price: $16.99).

Hey all,
Last I heard from my contact at Marvel (when I asked when it was coming
out), I was told that it is still happening, but it was not currently scheduled.
He said they were considering if they should do it as a DD HC in the series or if they should do it as a VISIONARIES Hardcover collection.
So that kind of publishing format is up to them. But I'm really proud of DD: WAKE UP and the ECHO story, and I'd love to see them collected together. I know Brian is looking forward to seeing it collected together as well. WAKE UP was his very first DD story, and his first actual work for Marvel,
and it is a story that was very special to us and our favorite collaboration together.
I'm very much looking forward to seeing all 4 issues of WAKE UP and
all 5 issues of ECHO put together. I think they were going to include some extra things as well, like layouts and sketches.
Judging from all the buzz and questions about it on this Bendis board, on my Kabuki board, and on the Joe Q board, I can see that a lot of readers are looking forward to it. DD readers and Kabuki readers.
Feel welcome to politely mention to Marvel that you are waiting for it. I'm sure this kind of fan reaciton will get it re-scheduled sooner rather than later.
I appreciate all your interest in it. |

There will probably be a DD vol. 4, but most likely will not collect Mack's run. That doesn't mean it will never be in HC format, but there are no plans at the moment.

It will collect both the 4 issue Wake Up story (written by Bendis!) and the 5 issue Echo story. And the guys at Marvel said they will try to fit in some extra stuff, like my sketches and layouts, and photos, etc.
Early on, they said it was to be July. But maybe they postponed it 'til Sept.
I'm way looking forward to it! |
