The original is one of my faves.

It made a deep impression on me when I saw it as a kid. And every time I see it, I love it more.

I think we are at Atlantis Fantasy World in Santa Cruz, CA.
A bit over 2 yrs ago.

If you go to that store, tell'em I say hello.

Anyone know the comic shop called Green Alien Head?
May 27, 2004 3:41 am

After the Philly show, I noticed someone left a sketchbook on the abandoned table next to mine.

The previous day, I had done a sketch for Nancy from the comic shop called Green Alien Head Comics. And I think it is the same book.

She stopped by again the next day, and I think she may have set down her book on the table next to mine. I'd like to return it to her.

But I don't know what city the store is in, and I can't find it on an internet search.

Thanks for your help.

Ha Ha:)

You guys are cracking me up.

Especially the shelf on head one:)

The one about the fat sweaty guys vs hot chicks is actually what he is saying right there. Cause he says it at every con

Just kidding. Not really.

Re: SPEAKING OF 9/11...does anyone remember this?
May 28, 2004 6:19 am

I remember hearing that on the news.

Also I heard on the news that there were simultaneous bomb situations in LA and CHicago. And at one point it was up to 11 or 12 planes that they thought were hijacked after the confirmed 4.

Then no more talk of any of that.

Sorry if there is a rule against it. I didn't know. Anh just asked me to mention her page. If there is a rule against it, I won't post her e-bay link anymore. You guys can just check it everyweek if you want to see what she has. Or you can request anything specific from her at

No hard feelings if I get banned

Re: Anh has signed Kabuki trades on e-bay at this link
May 29, 2004 12:47 am

I thought it was OK cause I seem to remember Oeming posting links to his art that he sells on ebay. If it is inappropriate, you can delete it.

In the meantime, just want to make the Kabuki trades available to those that want to try them before the new Kabuki series from Marvel.

For those that can't get to a con, but want to buy signed books without an inflated price, you can get them on Anh's e-bay page, or by ordering directly from her.

Comix,
There are six and all of them went immediately. Thanks for getting the 4

She is putting another set up now, in case you want to get the other 2 that you missed.

Dave,
Glad you got the volume 2 Kabuki Dreams.
I think Anh will probably put some extra goodies in all of these as well.

And any of you are welcome to e-mail her if you need to get something direct and signed.

Johnny Z,
Thanks for that. Anh said she is sending you your parcel.

GraveS,
Yes. She is way hot. It is true.
I met her at a dance club.
On the dance floor. Our eyes met across the room, and then I put the vibe out

It was so on. Her and her two girlfriends came over and started dancing closer to me. And then I knew that she would be mine. Oh yes. She would be mine.

OK, Anh says she has a complete set of 6 trades up again now, as well as some other stuff.

Hey Johnny,
Yeah, I have been at a dance club with Bendis
And I think he met his wife dancing or dancing was somehow part of the evening, as I remember him telling me about it afterwards.
He's a really swinging guy. Tons of stories for your tell-all memiors

His wife, Alisa, and my girlfriend Anh also turned out to have the same birthday which was a fascinating surprise to us.

Hey Twindle,
School is important too

It isn't a strictyl male escort service, in fact it is mostly the opposite, it was just that when they were short of males and needed one, my friend came thru for them in the pinch

The entire thing is a wealth of story writing potetnial to draw from.
Most of that was going on, or I was closest to it, when I was writing the Scarab series.

May 30, 2004 5:04 am

Hey JD!

That is a great idea!
I'll ask her to put up one of the KABUKI: CIrcle of Blood hardcovers!!!

We have one or 2 of the signed and #ed version of the Image edition (from a limited print run of 500).

I think we are all out of the reg Image version.

And I have a few of the Caliber edition Hardcover. This was the first ever KAbuki hardcover and limited to a print run of 300. It was originally offered only with a sketch and retailed for $100 back in 95.

I have some of those with the sketch and some without. I guess I could offer it either way.

Which would you prefer that she put on e-bay?
Or if you want, you can order any of these directly from her.

Who cares,
I read Powers

I used to read Alias.

I dug all the stories in that new Edge paperback anthology.

The artist in it named Ricci, is a Spanish artist whose other books I have.

I used to read a bunch of autobiographical comics when they came out. Like American Splendor, SCHIZO(one of my faves!), Peepshow.

Mostly I read biographies and autobiographies. Reading a Woody Allen biography right now. Also like John Irving books.

Hey Shwicaz,
Good to see you here! I just responded to your kind words on the Joe Q board about what is exciting in comics.

Glad he got that for you!
We'll throw in some extra goodies in the package for you.

Re: David Mack!! Please answer an Echo question.....
May 30, 2004 5:16 am

It will collect both the 4 issue Wake Up story (written by Bendis!) and the 5 issue Echo story. And the guys at Marvel said they will try to fit in some extra stuff, like my sketches and layouts, and photos, etc.

Early on, they said it was to be July. But maybe they postponed it til Sept.

I'm way looking forward to it!

I'd like to see a Marvel hardcover collectiong all the covers I've done for them so far.
I've done about 25 DD covers and over 30 Alias covers.
It'd be cool to see a book collecting all of these without the logo, and have the original sketch on the opposite side, with commentary by Bendis and me.

Would be a fun collection.

Re: David Mack!! Please answer an Echo question.....
May 30, 2004 5:18 am

Is it in the catalogue for shipping in August?
That would be great.

Re: David Mack!! Please answer an Echo question..... May 30, 2004 5:28 am

Maybe Sept.
I'll ask the HC guy next week.

I love the DD hardcovers!

It's going to be cool to see all 9 issues of DD that I painted together in one book.

The first DD HC with my story and the Smith story is a really nice package.

As is the recent DD one which included that nice profile on the artists in the back.

Re: Anh has signed Kabuki trades on e-bay at this link
May 30, 2004 5:31 am

And thanks for posting that DD pic of the print.

It reminds me that I should let people here know that Anh has a bunch of DD and Kabuki prints on her e-bay page. As well as a Kabuki action figure and a Kabuki artist proof mask.

Re: question about native americans
May 30, 2004 8:25 am

Smoke signals is good. Also Skins, and all of the other films by director Chris Eyre for some first person point of view about Native American life by Native American filmmakers.

You might want to ask this question on my Kabuki message board.

There is a reader there who posts by the name Smokinghawk.
He has answered some questions of this sort from posters on my board.

I've seen him on this board a couple times, but he is a regular on mine.
He's a Native American artist who speaks his tribes language, and a fan of the Echo story I did.

He had some good discussions about the Echo story on my board, and he has bought a lot of the art from it.

Hey guys,
Just remind me in a post here about the prints you want a couple days before the cons (in this case the Toronto and Portland cons). And then I'll make sure to bring them with me.
Same with anything else.
