David Mack Mentioned in Ken Tanaka LA Times Article |
 |
Thanks to David Mack for reporting that Billy Shire's Ken Tanaka show was spotlighted at LATimes.com, which noted: |
 |
So the buyer of a box of old vinyl records might discover a hand-painted album cover harboring a fake cardboard LP, while the shopper who purchases a stack of cassette tapes could find one made of wood whittled by Tanaka. In addition to Tanaka, several artists who have been in his videos, such as Kozyndan and David Mack, will have their work on view. |

Copies of Kabuki Fan Edition Found in Warehouse |

From DiamondGalleries.com: |

Writer–artist David Mack has displayed his award-winning talent in the pages of Daredevil and on numerous comic book covers, but he’s still best known for creating Kabuki. The enigmatic agent of a mysterious government agency in an almost unfathomable world, Kabuki has intrigued readers since it debuted from Caliber in 1994.
After several one-shots and specials with that publisher, the title moved to Image Comics in 1997 and eventually to Marvel's Icon imprint in 2004.
In 1997, Gemstone released the Kabuki FAN Edition, a rare one-shot offered through a mail-in program in conjunction with the magazine Overstreet’s FAN. Last fall, a small warehouse find of the comics resulted in limited quantities being made available again.
The comic is $10, and from April 10 to April 17, 2009, shipping is free. To order, visit the Gemstone Publishing website, or call toll-free (888) 375-9800 ext. 412. |
