Meeting Chuck D in Atlanta |
|
From David Mack: |
|
I just met Chuck D. He’s at Criminal Records in Little 5 points in ATL right now if you are in the area. Criminal Records is a great music and comic book shop. I stopped in with Andy Lee to say hi to the staff there because we were in the area (we had just been bike riding). DJ Swivel who works there. I met DJ T1 who also works there. The place was packed.
Then we stepped over to Aurora Coffee to grab a coffee before getting back to work for the day. In Aurora Chuck D was there and shook my hand when we made eye contact. And gave me his card. I mentioned the Live Art in San Diego. And DJ T1 from Criminal Records brought over the new Kabuki issue for Chuck D and I signed it for him. Chuck was very warm and friendly and said he had been picking up other Kabuki issues when he travels internationally. Was happy to hear that Chuck D reads Kabuki! |
Factotum Movie Review |
|
From David Mack: |
|
Saw Factotum yesterday...
Loved it.
I saw it with my friend since 3rd grade Larry Woolum who has read all Bukowski's books. Die-hard Bukowski fan with all his readings on CD and he loved it too.
I was pretty impressed by the acting in it. Way better than I expected. |
Petting Sharks at a Zoo |
|
From David Mack: |
|
There is a pool with mantas and bonnethead sharks (looks like a small hammerhead) and you can put your hands in the water and they will come to your hand and you can pet them.
The CNN cameras were shooting it the whole time because the mantas are in it and they keep showing the live shots of mantas there every time they mention Steve Irwin on the news.
I never pet a shark before, so that was nice. |
