David Mack & Andy Lee in Pittsburgh Comicon Review |
From Lauren Perry and Mary Brickthrower of PopCultureShock.com: |
Andy Lee and David Mack, two of the cutest and most talented artists in the biz, were more then happy to pose for a silly picture. If you’ve never seen Andy work, you are seriously missing out on an amazing experience. You can find some of his artwork here. David Mack is the creator of the internationally acclaimed comic book Kabuki. He’s currently working on developing the live-action Kabuki movie, which is sure to be a blockbuster. These boys are always happy to entertain as they share their art with you, so if you get the opportunity to see them at a convention, you won't regret it.
Andy Lee is currently in the midst of working with Anheuser-Busch creating art for an ad campaign that is taking him all over the US, but he still finds time to make it to conventions and draw his little heart out. Handlebar moustache or no, this man will create a masterpiece for you in 5 minutes or less. The rubber ducky and Frankenstein paintings I procured from him this time around were some of his best work yet. And believe you me; I have enough of an Andy Lee collection to attest to that!

Contents of Kabuki: Reflections #6 |
According to David Mack, Kabuki: Reflections #6, which can be pre-ordered at a comic book store near you, will include pencil sketches of the White Tiger covers. Mr. Mack also added: |
Some step-by-step shots of the painting of several covers and paintings. The Tori Amos painting I did for her 2007 calendar, lots of drawings from my sketchbook: doodles, and figure drawings and some various stages from Kabuki and Alias paintings, the paintings Lucy Lawless commissioned me to paint of her, and much larger non-comic book works, and lots more.
Maybe even enough arty art stuff for even Goddard to like it.
But a lot of step-by-step stuff that many people may find practical and insightful. |
David Mack also noted: "Anyone is welcome to let me know what kind of stuff they like to see in these." |
