Powers Character Based on David Mack
On page three of The Definitive Powers Interview, which was printed in the Powers: Psychotic trade paperback, Ernie Estrella of Buzzscope.com asked if Detective Walker is based on anyone and Brian Michael Bendis explained:
	There's no specific person he's based on. There's two David Macks. One is... [Oeming giggles] the very quiet and introspective but you-can-tell-the-wheels-are-turning David Mack. And the one is this wild maniac David Mack. And it's a little based on, it started off based on the quiet David Mack when he's sitting there thinking. He's kind of got this detective look on his face.
