Scarab figure
Date: MON, 11/3/03, 7:23 p.m. - In Response To: Question for Ron Wm McElman (Klaus)

I think Diamond is trying to make retailers aware of the [Scarab] figure this month and I think they are going to solicit it next month. The important thing is to let your comic store know that you want it and make sure they know to order it in advance as soon as it is offered.

I think they are going the extra mile to promote the Kabuki stuff ahead of time because it is important to order them when they are first offered. Things are going to be made to fit the initial orders.

I did not find a solicitation either. But since the ad says the figure was co-presented by Diamond Select Toys and Nohtv, perhaps Mr McElman (Creator of nohtv.com and moderator of this board) can tell us something. Probably the actual solicitation will be in a future issue of Previews.

Mack at Wiz Dallas Con and Mid Ohio con this month
Date: MON, 11/3/03, 8:00 p.m.

I've been so busy that I have not done any signings or conventions for a while. The Wizard World Texas con in Dallas will be the first con I've done since my DD/Echo story started.

I will be signing at the Beckett Booth the entire show. Beckett Entertainment is flying me to the show and hosting me. They are completely responsible for me attending. The first issue of RUULE: Gangs of Chinatown will debut from Beckett at the show. Since I have done all the covers for the series they wanted to have me there to promote the debut.

It is good timing as the fourth issue of my Echo/DD story will ship the wednesday before the con, and the new Kabuki series is offered in the current Previews catalogue.

This is the first time I will be signing in Texas since 1995. Though I will be at the Beckett booths, I will have my own Kabuki table and all the Kabuki stuff will be available to fans and new readers. Original art (Echo, DD, Kabuki, Scarab), Prints, Kabuki hardcovers, paperbacks, back issues, T'shirts and more.

I will be happy to sign any of the books or Kabuki Items you pick up from my table and any of my books that you bring. There is no signing limit.

This Dallas show is the weekend BEFORE Thanksgiving. See you there!

THE MID OHIO CON In Columbus is the Sat, Sun AFTER Thanksgiving.

I will be signing there with Brian Bendis, Andy Lee and Mike Oeming. Very fun show. Brian and Mike weren't there last couple years. But they are all flying in for this year. A must go show.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Re: oh yeah, forgot.....
Date: WED, 11/5/03, 12:15 a.m. - In Response To: Re: oh yeah, forgot..... (crystal*rogue)
I figured out that there are 9 acts in Metamorphosis but I do not know about the other volumes. I have volume 1, Circle of Blood, and volume 6, Scarab. Plz let me know about the others. Thnx.
Hi Crystal,
Thanks for seeking out my work. I'm glad you like it so far. I like to think that it improves as you go, with the later books being my favorite.

Go to davidmack.net and nohtv.com for more info. And if you are having trouble finding anything, you are welcome to order any of the books from Anh Tran at .

She can provide you with any of the collections or the individual issues. And you can get them signed if you mention it.

Circle of Blood collects COB 1-6 and the 48pg prequel called Kabuki-Fear the Reaper.

Dreams collects 4 books. Originally issued as The Kabuki Color Special, KABUKI Dreams of the Dead, KABUKI one half, KABUKI The Ghost Play.

Masks of the Noh collects MON 1-4.

Skin Deep collects 4 books. Skin Deep 1-3 and The KABUKI Fan Edition.

Metamorphoisis is 9 issues

Scarab is 8 issues.

All of the collections also have some extra stuff like forewords, afterwards, pinups, covers, and stuff.

But the original books have the letter collumns that the trades do not.

If you do want the regular issues, Anh Tran has just about all of them available and probably less expensive than most places, though is suggest you check out the back issue bin at your local comic shop as well to make them aware that you dig Kabuki.

The new Kabuki series is being offered to retailers this month in the current Previews catalgue to ship in Jan. Mention it to your comic shop to make sure they order in advance.

Thanks for reading. I look forward to hearing what you think my books after you have read them.

Kindest regards,
DM
