Newsarama: Marvel's previous miniseries, Spider-man Unlimited and X-men Unlimited, were known to give some new comics writer a chance to show their chops up on the Marvel stage. Do you see a similar role for Marvel Comics Presents at some point?
Marvel Editor John Barber: A little, but not really. The Unlimited books were very heavily "new-writer" initiatives. Marvel Comics Presents will definitely have some new voices, but that’s not the only thing. Or really even the most important thing. I like to look at it more like when Bendis did the Daredevil story that David Mack drew. It wasn’t important that Bendis was new to Marvel, it was important that he had an exciting outlook and a different way of telling a story. That’s how I look at this. If somebody’s got a cool story to tell, I don’t care if they’ve been in the business 50 years or 50 days. |
