Today Tori Amos sent me a calendar she
signed to me
Oct 26, 2004 2:56 pm
As you probably know, I did a painting of Tori in the 2004, and the
2005 Tori Amos RAINN Calendar for RAINN to raise funds for the charity.
Today I recieved a copy of the 2005 calendar in the mail. And on the
image of the Tori painting that I did, Tori signed "To David, With Love,
Tori Amos".
Which was a very nice way to start my day!
I hope you get the 2005 calendar. It is an even better calendar than last years.

F*CK! Bendis came to my home town and I didn't even get to see his
bald ass. D*MNIT! I hate my life sometimes.
But the PV signing was cool and Mack was awesome as always.
Thanks Raven!
You were great too!
It was great signing at the Paradise Valley store of Atomic Comics!
The AT Crew was fantastic. It was great to meet all the fans, and all
the other creators.
Had a blast with the Bendis' and Quesada's!
And the Atomic family!
Thanks everyone!

Anyone know where I can get it for cover or maybe just a little
above? I wanna try it.
Glad to hear it!
You should be able to get it at any comic shop.
If they are out of stock, they can still re-order it (both Mack cover
and Maleev cover are still available for re-order at the regular price).
As any retailer can still re-order it from Marvel for the original price,
you should still be able to get it for cover price until the re-orders
are sold out.
I hope that helps.
And please give your retailer my thanks for carrying it in their store
Best,
David
PS. Let me know what you think when you get it!

Well, as far as music stars go, I don't know if I can top Bendis' Bush
experience.
But I once danced with Chile from TLC at a club in Atlanta.

I don't have scans of them handy, but maybe David Thornton (AKA davidmackguide.com)
can post scans of both Tori paintings I did for the calendars.
And I'll ask Anh if she can take a pic or scan of the personalized calendar image if she has time.
Both calendars are very cool. The new 2005 is I think a better designed calendar. And Bill Sienkiewicz did a painting for it this time too.

I donated the original painting for the 2005 calendar to be auctioned at a RAINN benifit concert earlier this year.
(see the letters collumn in Kabuki #1 for more details).
The RAINN organizer told me that someone from Tori's family bought my
Tori painting for her before the auction.

Glad to see so many peeps here looking forward to it!
Remember, I'll be at the BECKETT booth signing with Amano.
Stop by and say hello!
Is there going to be a Bendis board-get-together at the hotel bar?
Re: Why I Love France

I love France.
I've had great experiences with the people and friends that I met in
France.
I love the people and the culture.
I try to go there once a year since I first visited Paris in 98.
All of the Kabuki volumes are translated in French. I love my French publisher.
And my French readers that I meet as book signings have been wonderful!

...is f*ckin' brilliant. I loved the art. I loved the story. I can't
wait for volume three. This is really a revolutionary comic that too me WAY too long to catch up on. I hesitate to even call it a comic. It's poetry. It's fine art. It's a lot more than what we normally call comics.

Glad you are reading it!
Vol 2 "Dreams" collects my first ever color work / painted work in comics.
Each of the volumes is different in vibe and pace, and I think you will
find that it gets better as it goes.
Looking forward to what you think of Metamorphosis and Alchemy.
