Time has weight, and therefore, velocity. That’s why the older you get, the faster time progresses. If you’re not careful, it will run right over you.

Yeah!

Re: Sean McKeever must die.
Jun 21, 2004 7:13 pm

I love NIN too.

So it was both

Re: self serving threads
Jun 22, 2004 6:05 am

Hey guys,
I was just curious about something. Now that Powers is at Marvel ICON, is the board going to move?

Yeah, I despise those self serving threads too. Let's try to suggest things beyone our own petty little worlds and interests and projects.
Have all of you read the Kabuki trades yet?

Re: This is a normal day for me...
Jun 23, 2004 6:09 am

That art is cool. I've been trying to make mine look more like that. Oh well, I'll keep practicing, and maybe I will get there one day

Re: Plug some book!
Jun 22, 2004 6:11 am

I know that some of you here have not yet read Kabuki.
And I think you should pick of the first or fifth Kabuki volume and read it.
But that's just my opinion.

Re: self serving threads
Jun 22, 2004 6:14 am

When I tried to type beyond, I must have been thinking about Beyonce.
But back to the topic, what would you like to know about my life?

Thanks Bendis board...
Jun 23, 2004 6:17 am

I've really appreciated all your sex threads and genitatila polls today.
This board keeps me updated on all the news, and I feel like I know so many of you better now.

You are really doing God's work

It was all I could do to resist posting my own responses to some of them

Re: How old are you people?
Jun 22, 2004 6:21 am

I'm 31.
This year is ten years of publishing Kabuki.

Good to see the scale of ages so far.

Re: This is a normal day for me...
Jun 23, 2004 6:30 am

That's what I already do.

Re: Thanks Bendis board...
Jun 23, 2004 6:32 am

To protect the guilty.

Re: Thanks Bendis board...
Jun 23, 2004 6:34 am

I don't want to sound like I'm bragging

Re: Mark Hamill takes shots at Lucas
Jun 23, 2004 6:42 am

Someone posted some stills on my board from Comic Book the Movie where I was in it. Anh was in it too.

So I've seen some frames of us in it...
But I still haven't made an effort to see it, cause it didn't really look like my cup of tea.

Re: Thanks Bendis board...
Jun 23, 2004 6:46 am

Thanks MG.
I looked at your drawing of Tanuki Kabuki earlier today.

Glad you are enjoying reading the nightly chapters of KABUKI to warm up for the new series.

Do you it differently this way, than when you first read it?

I'm saving all the good sex stories for a book of thinly veiled memiors.

Re: BENDIS BACK FROM SPIDEY PREMIERE..
Jun 23, 2004 10:23 am

I don't want to give it away, cause I think he is writing an article about it, but he met with superstars and directors and they were all happy to see him as usual

Cool sh*t went down:)

This is a crazy year!

Re: Where did you lose your virginity?
Jun 23, 2004 10:29 am

I'm hoping to lose mine soon. I think its about time I get rid of it.

Re: BENDIS BACK FROM SPIDEY PREMIERE..
Jun 23, 2004 10:34 am

Diana,
Your photo always makes me grin

Re: BENDIS BACK FROM SPIDEY PREMIERE..
Jun 23, 2004 10:54 am

I'm glad they arrived
Please post your reaction to them. If you like them and if your missing any of the volumes, I'll be at the Chicago Con. I think I saw a post that said you'd be there?

If so, I'll hook you up with the some sketchbooks too.

Same for anyone else. Looking forward to meeting many of you at the San Diego and Chicago shows.

Re: Anybody going to the Portland, OR convention?!
Jun 24, 2004 11:48 am

I did this con with Bendis and Andy Lee 2 years ago and it was a lot of fun.

Like you said, a lot of creators in the area that tend to show up to say hi.
Not as overwhelming as some of the larger shows so you can comfortable hang out and talk without feeling the pressure of a line.

And last time Brian and I raised a bunch of money for the make a wish foundation. I think the con charged 25cents to get a signature from us and it all went to charity. At 25cents it was no problem for anyone, and it still added up by the end of the con to be their biggest fundraiser ever.

Craig Thompson lives there. Matt Wagner. Rucka. Chuck Pahlaniuck. Jamie Rich and the Oni guys. Diana Schutz.
Lots of cool bookstores in the area that always have author signings.

Definitely looking forward to October 10. (Which also happens to be my little brother's birthday)

And looking forward to seeing Olivia Bendis. Maybe if I'm lucky she'll throw my sharpies too

Hi Gail

Looking forward to seeing you all there. We'll keep updating about the con as it gets closer. It's going to be ICON-ilicious!

Re: what's your porn name
Jun 24, 2004 11:51 am

Oddly enough, mine's David Mack

Re: Mack !!
Jun 24, 2004 12:03 pm

Glad you got'em!
Anh will throw in some extras for you as well.

Will this be your first time reading Kabuki?
Please post your reaction to them when you get them and read them.

Thanks for the order RangerChic

Best,
DM

Uhh...

Thanks Bendis board...

Re: Have you read, "WHO KILLED MADMAN?"
Jun 25, 2004 3:19 am

I love that too.
I have that original page that Oeming did with Deena, Walker, and Kabuki.
One of my prized possessions

That Flaxen is a classic also

Re: weirdest thing you did to a celebrity...
Jun 25, 2004 3:01 am

When I was little I shook hands with Roy Rogers.
Last San Diego show I spoke with Quentin Tarantino.

And a few years back I dated a Playboy Playmate. That had it's weird points

Re: weirdest thing you did to a celebrity...
Jun 25, 2004 3:26 am

yeah, she's super. I always trade up

That thing about Springer reminds me. In case you don't know, he used to be the Mayor of Cincinnati where I was growing up. Then he bounced a check on a hooker and he resigned.
Then he became the anchor man on the local nightly news. So I grew up with him always on the news signing off with that take care of yourselves and each other.

George Clooney was also from the area (in fact we went to the same college), and his dad Nick Clooney was always on the News as a journalist and had a local collumn in the paper.
Once when I was in high school, I won an art and writing award, and Gearge Clooney presented it to me and read my introduction and bio about my art work at some press event and dinner.

It only seems weird now when I see Springer and Clooney on TV.

Re: weirdest thing you did to a celebrity...
Jun 25, 2004 3:36 am

No nudes here
But you can see some photos and paintings I made of her in Reflections #2.

And some of my favorite figure studies of Anh in Reflections #4.

Re: Hey MACK!
Jun 25, 2004 3:53 am

Yes...

What Ranger Chic said... not what LoveWagon said.

Generally I don't have time to do any real commissions, but for readers who want some kind of original sketch, I have a little sign that says "Quickie Kabuki sketch for $20".

It is generally a brush and ink drawing. Usually the requests are for Kabuki, kabuki characters Daredevil, or Echo, Bullseye, Wolverine, or other characters if it is not too complicated.

Thanks for the interest.
I'll see you there at the show.

I have a big selection of 11x17 prints as well. And I'll also have original pages.

Best,
David

I met Savini at some cons a couple times and he seemed nice. He stopped by my booth once in Chicago and was checking out the replica of the Kabuki Sickle. He seemed to really get a kick out of it.

I met Chili from TLC at an Atlanta dance club once. A dancer there introduced us while we were all on the dance floor in the VIP room

Re: Any Marvel Mini-mates websites?
Jun 25, 2004 10:00 am

I have some Kabuki Mini-Mates in the works

You should see them in the Previews catologue in a couple months.

Re: Anyone going to Dragon*Con?
Jun 25, 2004 10:05 am

I'll be there.
So will Andy Lee.

And Atlanta has a rockin nite life. Youre going to dig it.
Plus Dragon Con has the most heavily armed and least clothed demographic of any con I've been to.

Lots of people with swords or laser guns, and many wearing nothing but loin cloths or green paint.

Most liberal of all the cons.
