Congrats!

I'd like to go to Bristol too. What is the convention like?

Re: Anh has signed Kabuki trades on e-bay at this link
Jun 01, 2004 3:37 am

I will have a lot of the prints at all the comicons I do this year. Including SD. But stop by San Diego early, cause they sell out fast there.

Will have at Chicago too

And:
For anyone who not read Kabuki, all the trades are offered in the current auction. All signed and starting at good prices.

rare sold out Kabuki mask too.

No danger of that. Posting them would be redundant. Since sooner or later, he gets naked in front of everyone anyway.

One time Brian called me and said: "Dave, what's up with Andy? He just got to my house an hour ago and he's already naked."

The real stuff to worry about is everything that Oeming has on video.

Flaxen... the TRUE story...

Just kidding

Site with DD interviews and many of my 2003 interviews...

While doing a search on Anh Tran's Tranimals, I came across this site which has collected many of my interviews from 2003.

If you are interested, they cover a wide range of topics from art and writing process to detailed info about Daredevil, Kabuki and Echo and working with Bendis and more.

I'm steadilly seeing more and more new readers pick up my Kabuki collections

Re: I finished reading Kabuki: Scarab
Jun 01, 2004 8:36 pm

Glad you liked it

It was a fun writing experiment. A play on first person point of view to contrast the point of view in Metamorphosis.

And lots of Japan underculture crime fiction.

Re: MACK! I just finished Circle of Blood as per your order!
Jun 01, 2004 9:21 pm

Hey glad you read it!

Good to hear that you are reading Metamorphosis now.
For maximum effect, read Skin Deep before Metamorphosis. Meta is sort of the culmination of the lot of the stuff that starts in Skin Deep.

Please let me know what you think of Metamorphosis.
Best,
DM

Thanks a bunch for making it your pick!

And for both of you keeping it in stock in your stores!
Keeping multiple copies in stock, and your convincing suggestion to potential readers, makes all the difference!

I really appreciate it.

Kindest regards,
David

Re: I finished reading Kabuki: Scarab
Jun 02, 2004 4:32 am

Thanks for the feedback.

The Scarab trade chronicles her first job as Scarab and her last job as Scarab. There are lots of Scarab adventures in between those 2 that it would be great to chronicle. I'm sure I'll work them in one way or another.

And some more of those scenes of her interacting with Tigerlily in that series.

Youre welcome.
Glad you dig it so far...

Re: Margaret Cho -- What's the Dilly-O?
Jun 02, 2004 10:59 am

Actually, I think in her act she says (in her words) she wondered if she was bi or gay after being with a woman, but then realized that she was just generally slutty.

Anh has the Kabuki trades and mask at this e-bay link.
Jun 03, 2004 8:29 am

Ebay.com

For those that are missing any of the trades, she has them signed at a good price and only 13 hours left.

Well if you want to see her, just read Kabuki. As she models for most of my Kabuki reference.

And check out my sketchbooks REFLECTIONS 1-4. They have sketches, photos, and figure studies of her and other live models.

Hi Diana,
I'm glad you got'em
I saw on your thread about the Bristol con that you were looking for Kabuki trades and couldn't find them.

So now you will!

I'm looking forward to your reaction to them.

Kindest regards,
David

Thanks!

I hope you get a lot of new Kabuki readers at your shop.

Rick does some incredilble art in it. Definitely his most passionate work.
And he did a bunch of it while in Japan.

Re: I finished reading Kabuki: Scarab
Jun 03, 2004 9:30 pm

Thanks!

I like Rick's sketches in the back of the trade too.

Re: I also just finished Circle of Blood
Jun 03, 2004 12:57 pm

Kman,
Thanks for the kind words about the book. I'm very glad that you like it and will read more.
I believe that it gets better. I recommend reading Skind Deep and Metamorphosis when you get the chance (preferable before the new Kabuki series from ICON begins in July.

Those books will really catch you up to speed on where the new Kabuki story The Alchemy from Icon begins.

Thanks,
DM

Hi Bachman,
Good to meet you in Philly!

Sorry for the interuption. That kind of interrupted talking does happen a lot at cons. Interviews, etc.
Let me know if there are any questions or comments you have.

And that interviewer guy wasn't JD. JD has been great, and I did an interview for his site by e-mail.

And Michael Goodman,
Yeah, show me the photo so I know who to put on my list

You can PM me the story.

Philly and all the cons were great. Good to meet you all there. Sure a lot of nonsense happens, but I guess it comes with the territory and you don't let it dampen your groove.
Best,
DM

Re: I got to take a dump...
Jun 03, 2004 1:25 pm

There must be a Bendis Board Award for that.

Re: David Mack is awesome
Jun 03, 2004 9:26 pm

Thanks for introducing it to her, JPKakinuma.

I appreciate it. And thanks all for the kind words.

Michael Goodman, I got your PM about the story about the guy.
The one that said meeting me at the con would give him the chance to fulfill his life's dream of shooting me with a gun.

Post me that picture here, so I know who to watch out for when I see them approaching my table.

Re: Do you have Jersey Mike's Subs near you?
Jun 04, 2004 11:07 pm

I often work at a place I have in Atlanta. A studio space with Andy Lee. And there is a Jersey Mike's in walking distance. A childhood friend of mine lives there too, and he introduced it to me as one of his regular joints. Really good
