New Avengers #39 Reviews
During his review of New Avengers #39, Chili Pepper Chris’s Comic Cave noted the issue includes: "David Mack’s kickass art. Very enjoyable! Grade: A." Also, the hosts of Pulp Secret praised David Mack's artwork, discussed story points and agreed that viewers should pick up the issue. Finally, IGN.com gave the issue an 8.8 out of 10 rating and reviewer Bryan Joel noted:
	Let me get this out of the way: don't expect New Avengers by way of Kabuki here -- there's hardly any trace of Mack's signature painted, layered style in issue #39. It's all firmly in the superhero comic tradition. It's absolutely solid stuff, no doubt, with some of Mack's trademark quirky panel progression and detailed touches. The fight itself looks great. But it's not what some may be expecting from a book bearing David Mack's name.
