Guilt and Sarcasm in Coversation
After reading a post by antithesis about making people laugh with black comedy-style jokes and dealing with guilt from malevolent acts committed during childhood, David Mack replied:
I relate to that.
The feeling bad about stuff done as a child and also the laughing.
I sometimes say something in earnest and people laugh as if I was joking or said it sarastically.
And sometimes when joking, they take it seriously.
I must have not learned the right inflection or something when growing up.
