Electric Ant is certainly a Philip K. Dick story, robots, advanced future, strange technology. The story starts with our hero in the hospital with no previous memory of how he got there or how he might have lost his hand. He soon learns from doctors that he isn't in fact human, but a worker robotic drone, commonly referred to as an "electric ant." Now our hero has to come to terms with not being what he thought he was and what hidden agenda that might be programmed into his sub-conscience. This is a great read to any Dick [or] Warren Ellis fans! It is obvious the inspiration to Frank Miller and Geoff Darrow's "The Hard Boiled" from 20 years ago! David Mack's script is solid and he subtly updates some of Dick's ideas. Pascal Alixe art work is beautiful and fitting in this dream like adventure. I give it 9 out of 10 Grahams. |
