Comics are a subversive medium capable of great communication and cultural influence. The format affords an individual to voice a singular vision on an international scale under the radar of big business interest and federal regulation.

David Mack Attending Baltimore Comic-Con
If you live near Baltimore, Maryland and would like to meet David Mack, he is scheduled to attend the Baltimore Comic-Con (October 10-11) and will have copies of Kabuki: The Alchemy hardcover, Kabuki: Reflections, Kabuki back issues, prints, shirts, original artwork and much more for sale at his table (#1909), where he will be signing with Mike Oeming and Brian Michael Bendis.

Kabuki Collections & Back Issues Nearly Sold Out
From David Mack:
Letting you know that some of the Reflections issues are about to sell out of there print run.

If you still want any, I'd order sooner rather than later.

The Alchemy single issues are mostly sold out. You can still order #1, though (my regular cover and the Maleev cover). The others are sold out at the distributor level.

If you want to order any of the signed and limited editions of Kabuki from Image Comics, you should order now. There are still limited editions with sketches left of the Scarab hardcover but it looks like the others are just about all sold out, and the Scarab hardcovers will be gone soon.

The regular hardcovers of Kabuki are still available for Vol 2: Dreams, Vol 3: Masks of The Noh, Vol 5: Metamorphosis, and Vol 6: Scarab, but if you want any of these, you may want to order them soon.

David Mack Mentioned in Daredevil #501 Review
From IGN.com:
De La Torre keeps to the noir tradition of the series, bathing each panel with haunting shadows, but also brings a superhero-y flair to the visuals. His work feels very much like an extension of that of Maleev, David Mack and Lark, but also adds a dynamic dimension to [Daredevil #501] that's been missing for some time.

Inspiration for Akemi Character
From David Mack:
Today I heard from the Akemi that I named Akemi after.

In the mid-nineties, I had a friend whose name is Akemi and that is the first time I had heard that name and it is who I named the character after.

This was 95-97. She was with me at a San Diego Comicon in '97, but that year is the last time I had really heard from her.

I heard from her on Facebook yesterday and that was pretty cool. It appears she has been traveling the world helping people in various countries and 3rd world countries, and I think she is now a teacher in Japan.

She said she wasn't sure if I still remembered her, and I asked her if she knew I named a character after her.

Mr. Mack later noted:
I've met a few Akemis since. But was really cool to hear from the person who was the first Akemi name in my life. There are aspects of the Akemi character from several people I know, but the name was from her and hearing from her just reminded me of that time way back when.

Possibility of Full Size Noh Agent Statues
When asked if there is a chance for more full size statues based on the Noh agents, David Mack replied:
I e-mailed Clay a week ago that I'd love to do a full size Scarab statue.

If we get a bunch of people chiming in here, I'll send him the link :)
