Continued from the SDCC blog I started in the thread with pics from the Tori Amos panel - I posted a blog a day for the publisher of my kids' book, and here I present the unedited versions:
Thursday
Today I was at my convention table from 9:30 am to 7:00 pm.
Huge day. Getting very crowded already. Someone told me that the sold out tickets for this event are 180,000 people.
Signing hundreds of books all day long. Doing many quick brush and ink sketches.
Lots of people asking about my Saturday panel with Tori Amos. Tori痴 Comic Book Tattoo continues to be popular.
Lots of new readers picking up Kabuki for the first time. Even though I致e been doing Kabuki for 15 years, lots of first time readers picking up the collections and the new Alchemy series.
I知 getting a lot of people asking about my "new secret Marvel Project." I知 told by Marvel that this will be announced on Friday at the convention.
Some readers showed me their new Kabuki tattoos today. I took photos. Lots of people took photos of me. And someone told me there is a woman dressed as Kabuki at the convention. Maybe she will stop by the table eventually.
The people are very nice. I'm meeting a lot of new faces as well as people who see me here every year. This is my fourteenth Comic-Con in a row (since 1995), so lots of people come each year for me to sign the work of mine they picked up in the past year. But even more than that are brand new people that seem to be discovering my work in Kabuki and The Shy Creatures for the first time.
I just got back to my hotel, and learned that Marvel did announce the new project today.
I知 adapting Philip K. Dick work into graphic novel form.
The word is out. I知 exhausted, I値l go into more detail tomorrow.
