Comic Book Professionals & Health Insurance |
 |
From David Mack: |
 |
My mother was from a religious community in Pennsylvania that didn't really think much of going to hospitals.
So as a kid, when something got broken or cut up, we set it ourselves and home-stitched and people prayed.
I know it sounds weird now, but I just didn't think of it much as a kid.
So I mostly only went to a checkup for a physical when I needed a doctor's proof of physical for school.
So I never thought of it much as an adult. Just did the "prayer for healing" thing. I had not been to a doctor since getting a physical for high school track and soccer.
But I decided that now that I'm in my thirties I should get insurance (it seemed like an adult thing to do), so I got it, like, a year ago, and got all the checkups, etc. So physically I'm good.
Just some inherited mental issues from my dad. |
Reviewsarama Examines The Shy Creatures |

Below is an excerpt from Reviewsarama.com's review of The Shy Cretures: |

If I were forced to name my favorite comics series/author I would probably say Kabuki by David Mack. So when I learned about Mack’s first children’s book I thought it would be a perfect book for me and my children to enjoy.
I’ve recently read some children’s books to my son, who is now 2, so I might be able to understand a little about what a child might like, or at least my child. |
Remembering Michael Turner |
 |
From David Mack: |
 |
I met Michael when we were both signing in Germany in 1999. He was really friendly and kind to me right from the start.
We hit it off discussing projects we were both involved in at Fox at the time, and he seemed like a super guy. Every time I met him from then on at conventions, he was always kind and friendly and smiling and seeming to really enjoy himself. Even after he was battling cancer, he was like this. Always cheerful and friendly and eager to engage in conversation and kind to his fans.
With all the success and admiration he had from his fans he could easily have been arrogant, but he was always very humble and friendly. |
