Seeking Photos for Kabuki: The Alchemy Hardcover |
|
From David Mack: |
|
Anyone with a camera... be a part of The Alchemy hardcover collection.
Ok, for some issues of The Alchemy, I asked people to send me stamps from all over the world. I received awesome stamps from all over the globe, which I used in the story and art of the series as Akemi and Kabuki were mailing each other. I included all the contributors’ names in the back of the book and your stamps (and some envelopes) were immortalized forever in the story.
For the hardcover collection, I’m again putting out the invite for readers to be a part of the art of the book. Based on the story where the "Akemi face" graffiti is appearing all over the world, many people have sent me awesome photos of spray painted Akemi face symbol (you know the one - if not, Jim Jam from this board has it on his sig) and various other Kabuki images and sigils from the story painted on walls.
I’m going to include some of these into the intro design of the hardcover collection. All kinds of photos of Kabuki story-related graffiti that people have sent me that is a part of the story - photos of spray painted Akemi faces accompanied with phrases like: "Down with Noh TV," "Where’s the real Kabuki," "Global War of Art," "Self-Fulfilling Prophecy" and "New Idea Cubism."
Photos of the main Akemi face logo spray painted on places from cities and countries all over the world.
It will be a kind of design foreshadowing in the beginning of the design of the collection for what will happen later in the story.
So if you happen to see one of these, please take a photo of it and send it to me. The regular Akemi design, or the other designs that it can be re-arranged into as seen in The Alchemy.
Also, some peeps have sent me tattoos of this, so that is welcome, and I’m going to include those, too.
Feel welcome to send printable photos to with city and country it is from and I’ll include your name in the thanks and acknowledgments section in the book. |
