David Mack Not Attending Baltimore Comicon |
|
From David Mack: |
|
I didn't realize my name was on the [Baltimore Comicon guest] list. We spoke about the idea of it some time back, but we never ironed out the details.
So I don't have a plane ticket or hotel or anything, at this point, so I wasn't expecting to be there this year.
But I really want to do this show. And I'll discuss it with them and try to make it a priority to attend next year.
I tend to do Dragon*Con each year, and this show starts like 4 days after that, so it is always difficult for me to schedule even though I really want to do the show and have heard great things about it. |

HOPE: NEW ORLEANS RELEASED!
Two years ago, Ronin Studios set out to create the charity anthology HOPE: NEW ORLEANS to benefit the victims of Hurricane Katrina, intending to donate proceeds to the Southeast Louisiana Chapter of the Red Cross. With the help of creator contributions and a Wizard World Chicago 2006 exclusive printing, Ronin raised money to get the book out through Diamond Comic Distributors, which accepted it for inclusion in Previews. The book was solicited for a late July release, but an unexpected increase in printing costs put the studio behind on the printing bill. The book is now confirmed it will be available the week of September 3, 2007.
"Two years later, there is still a lot of interest among comic fans to help the victims of Katrina," says DC writer and HOPE: NEW ORLEANS contributor Russell Lissau.
224 pages strong, HOPE: NEW ORLEANS contains 36 stories across a multitude of genres centering around the New Orleans/ South Louisiana area. 100 creators contributed. They include Brandon Jerwa (Battlestar Galactica: Zarek, Highlander), Russell Lissau (The Batman Strikes) and Christopher Yost (New X-Men, X-23), as well as pinup artists such as Michael Lark and Richard Stahnke. David Mack provided cover artwork. The anthology has endorsements from Jeph Loeb, Jimmy Palmiotti and Will Pfeifer. |
