 |
Below is an image of the cover that is currently scheduled to appear on Kabuki: The Alchemy #6 and will debut as a print at Wizard World Texas, which will open tomorrow at 10 am and close Sunday at 5 pm.
David Mack reported that a print featuring the cover for Kabuki: The Alchemy #5 will be released at the show and his Princess Fujiko (one, two), Snapdragon and Death prints, which are based on Mandy Amano, will be available at the convention.
Mr. Mack also noted: |

I should remind everyone that they can get Jeff Amano and I to sign the new Ruule: Ganglords of Chinatown TPB. It has a new cover by me and includes my 5 previous covers, and Amanosan wrote the story.
Also, we will both be happy to sign the new Ronin Hood TPB. His story, and I contributed some paintings and an introduction.
There will be lots of goodies at the booth!
Don't be shy to ask questions about the books and work. |
David Mack Shares Random Facts |
 |
During a message board thread that asked fans to post random facts about themselves, David Mack noted: |
 |
- I used to raise mice and rats as a child. Had 13 aquariums and raised hundreds of them. I could custom make any size, color, pattern, spots, etc. and my brother sold custom orders of them. I recorded all the data and won a science fair award for genetics.
- My father is from New York and my mother is from Pennsylvania.
- I have a brother that people have said is identical to me.
- My mother was a survivalist and saved food and stuff for the Biblical endtimes. Kinda like Linda Hamilton in T2. We had to read The Book of Revelation all the time.
- As a child, people prayed for us instead of taking us to the hospital. Includes broken bones and anything else. After car wrecks, etc. |
Impact of Watchmen on David Mack |
 |
David Mack shared his thoughts on Watchmen, which was recently named as one of Time Magazine's top 100 novels: |
 |
I loved it. I read it at 16 years old and it really set the bar. Everytime I read it since, I got more from it.
I haven't read it for over ten years because I lent it to someone and they never returned it. But I thumbed through it in a bookstore recently, and liked it all over again. It still had the same power and even more.
And I also thought of it after 9/11. I find the book even more relevent today than when I first read it 16 years ago.
And I adored the characters. Dr. Manhattan and Rorschach especially. I think I related to them most. And also liked the Comedian.
I love the entire way it is told as well. |
