David Mack on Kabuki: The Alchemy & Comfort Zones |
 |
From David Mack: |

As for the timing of the new Kabuki series, the details are this: Image said they want to really promote the new series as a major event for them as a publisher. Which I am grateful for. They said they are going to give it the cover of the Previews solicitation catalogue for the month it debuts. But they don't get that opportunity every month. It is like every 3 months or something. So I haven't yet [been] given an exact date for it because I'm waiting to hear which month they can confirm it for in their schedule with the cover to Previews. So far I have heard that January 2004 is an open month for them. But if it has to be moved to accomodate another date, that is ok, too. It just gives me more time to get ahead on the series. |
Also, David Mack talked about stepping outside his "comfort zone" to write Ultimate X-Men. |
Alias #25 Reviews |

Alias #25 was examined by Cody Dolan as well as Shawn Hill, who wrote: |

Let's start with the cover. It's pretty cool. The panel format allows Mack to comment on the concept of the issue (four-color whimsy that comes crashing down to earth) as well as the interior art, while depicting the sophisticated, sexual and complicated woman that Jessica has become. Like the one for #23, it's a collage, but one that alludes to pop art and the comics world all at once. |
Tori Amos Calendar & Thoughts on Writing X-Men |
 |
ComicBookResources.com talked with David Mack about his Ultimate X-Men story arc and the Tori Amos Calendar, which is available for pre-order at Rainn.org. "His painting will adorn the page for July, a month he chose. 'It's the seventh month - that's my favorite number,' the artist explained." |
