Re: Dragon Con August 30- Sept 2
FRI, 2/27/04, 10:42 p.m. - In Response To: Re: Dragon Con August 30- Sept 2 (Vincent Hopwood)

Yes this is an old thread, but this is the same question I have . How can I get my hands on a Control Corps t-shirt? I've been looking off and on for one for years (and, unfortunately, I live too far away from most of the various "Cons" to pop down for a look-see).

- V.

Hi V,

You can order it from the checklist in the back of any of the Kabuki books, or e-mail Anh directly at and check out davidmack.net.

Best,
David

Re: availability of Mr. David Mack for November
FRI, 2/27/04, 10:45 p.m. - In Response To: availability of Mr. David Mack for November (Elena Santana Guevara)
Dear Mr. David Mack, I organize with some other people an annual comic exhibition in Canary Islands, Spain. Past years' event has been more European comic orientated, however I would like this year to be more American-comic orientated.

It is for this reason that I would like to ask for your availability, and if you would like to come to our comic event.

There are no final dates yet, but it is most possible that it will be held in November.

Could you please let me know what do you think about this?

Thanks so much for your time, hope to hear from you soon
Elena Santana Guevara

Dear Elena,
I am very interested in this. Thank you for your kind invitation. I do have two other events currently scheduled for November. I'll check to see if there are final dates for those.
Please keep me updated on this event.
Kindest regards,
David Mack

Re: Hey David, Wondercon?
FRI, 2/27/04, 10:51 p.m. - In Response To: Hey David, Wondercon? (savagepanda)
i went to Wondercon last year which moved to the Moscone in San Fransicsco and was hoping you'd show, but i guess you got pretty hung up!

any luck seeing you this year at wondercon with lots of Kabuki goodies??

Dear Savagepanda!

I love Wondercon and hope to go at the next oppertunity. I was a guest of the show for a few years in a row and it was fantastic. I love the Bay area, and I loved the show. Since it has been under new management, I haven't been invited in advance as a guest of the show, and I had agreed to be a guest at other conventions that invited me for that same date.
I'm hoping I iwill be able to attend next year.

I love the show, and most of all the people there! I am very much looking forward to returning.

By the way, how are you doing?

Best,
David

New Andy Lee Sam&Twitch arc in new PREVIEWS...
FRI, 2/27/04, 11:04 p.m.

The new Previews offers the first issue of Andy Lee's six issue story arc in Todd McFarlane's Spawn related cop detectve series CASE FILES: Sam & Twitch.

He is doing all the art for all six issues. This will be his longest art run on a series so far. The Preview's catalogue shows some of his art and offers the first issue.

I'm very happy for him!
What a bold experiment it will be. I can't wait to see how it all turns out.

Re: College question for David
FRI, 2/27/04, 11:14 p.m. - In Response To: College question for David (Benjamin Simpson)
Hi David, how are you?

I was wondering what you got your major in at college? I'm at this weird point in my freshman year where I'm a biomedical engineering major, but I don't seem to be enjoying my science/math and have been feeling better with my writing classes. I've been reading(novels) and writing much more, lately, and kind of blowing off studying. An english or film major sounds cool, but I keep wondering how practical something like that is? Let me know if you have any thoughts or input. Thanks.

Best,
Benjamin Simpson

Hi Benjamin,
I have a BFA in Graphic Design and a minor in English.
I think things are only as practical as you make them. meaning whatever you are learning, you just try to apply that into what you want ot do to enrich whatever work you choose to do.
I'd suggest choosing to study and to work in the field that is enjoyable to you. The work that you enjoy spending time at.

Best,
David

Hi Kerry,

Thanks for this update. Congrats on getting Steranko to attend. I'm a big admiror of his work. I'm going to consult my schedule and see if I can make it work.
I know Andy Lee has also expressed interest as he went to college at Wash U in St Louis and I used to spend a lot of time at Wash U and did signings there about ten years ago.

Best,
DM

This year! I just spoke with Diamond Select about the figures. They are going to release them after a couple of issues of Kabuki [The Alchemy] are out.
Same with the Kabuki Sickle Replica!!!

Figures.com posted images of the Akemi and Scarab figures that were on display at Toy Fair 2004.
