We may never find Akemi since she has been trained to blend in. These skills are amplified by the fact that she is a hermaphrodite. Some of the best agents are. It raises their cover potential by 200%.

Aust. Masterclass. Western Sydney University
TUE, 4/2/02, 2:27 p.m. - In Response To: Question for MACK re: Aust. Masterclass. (Keyser Soze)

Hi Simon,

I will cover all of that. I've going to begin with basically saying what I do, how and why I do it, and then let the audience choose the specific direction of the rest of the class. I'll take questions from people, and answer that specifically so that we are discussing the specific things that the audience is interested in learning about.

DM

hi david,
i was just wondering if you could tell me what will be on the agenda for your "Masterclass" in Sydney this April. I'm trying to decide whether i can justify buying a ticket. Is it completly art-oriented or will you also be talking about your writing and publishing? im a pretty weak artist but i write quite a bit (music, lyrics, prose and script) and im trying to get a small b&w comic off the ground. can't wait to meet you.
many thanks
-simon

Hi Ward
THU, 4/4/02, 10:40 a.m. - In Response To: its been awhile (Ward Shipman)

I hope you are doing well. I put a page showcasing your art in Reflections #4 (with your contact info). Reflections #4 is at the color seperator/printer now and will ship in May. I mentioned that like Andy Lee, you are one of the certain artists that I am especially inspired or influenced by and that I'd like to see more of your work on Comic book covers. I included your contact info for publishers and editors to contact you for cover or illustration work.

I'll send you as many copies as you need. Also I mentioned you in the acknowledgements section of my recent Dreams Hardcover collection which features a brand new story that I did. I'll send you one of those too if you haven't seen it.

Now that I think of it, I should have checked to make sure that your contact info is still the same. If there is any change in your contact info call me immediately. Otherwise, I will give you a call in the next couple of days anyway.

Best,

David

David
what a great forum for talking to you . Hope everything is going well . We should talk about business art and all
that Jazz. See you in the funny papers
Ward

Re: Thanks
THU, 4/4/02, 10:47 a.m. - In Response To: Thanks (Bill Kennedy)

Hi Bill!

Good to see you here. Thanks for the kind words. I had a great time on our Stone Mountain Journey! I really enjoyed the interaction with the Monks!

I'm sure I'll see you again next time I'm in the ATL. Loved visiting your art gallery.

David

Hi David: Just wanted to say it was great meeting you! I just got back from Ft.Myers tonight--it was a long 2 weeks---while I was making peace with my father as he lay dying---I kept thinking of when we met the MONKS on the path--and the way Andy started laughing like a school boy caught with his hand in the cookie jar! I'd just smile and think of those holy men--and how there are no accidents in this world! Hope you and Ahn like the paintings--If you and Ahn ever need a place to stay in Atlanta---come visit---my little community is one of the coolest places on the Planet!!
Bill

Re: Final cover for Ultimate Team-Up #15!!!
THU, 4/4/02, 7:19 p.m. - In Response To: Final cover for Ultimate Team-Up #15!!! (Benjamin Simpson)

Glad you dug it. Thanks for the comments. The colorist is Jose Villarubia.

The Andy Lee pages and the Rick Mays pages are both excellent. I'm really proud of everyone on this book.

DM

Thank God that other piece of **** wasn't used, you know the one up on Marvel.com? Mack's cover looks soooo great! When I read this at the store, I think it said that it as Jose Virrabulla (man i butchered that) on the colors. Great issue, BTW, and I really can't wait to see the next issue, even if that means the end of the series. Rick Mays and Andy Lee just kicked my ass! The artw as so great this issue!

THU, 4/4/02, 7:35 p.m. - In Response To: Top Shelf Update! (MACK!)

It is great to see the comics community come thru for each other like this. Though the LPC thing put a major crimp in the cash flow of some of your favorite comic book publishers, it looks like we are not going to let it pull anyone under.

That said, if you have always been thinking about picking up a book for yourself or for a friend, but haven't gotten around to it yet, this would be a great time to go ahead and order that book from Image, Dark Horse, Top Shelf, or any of the other quality comic book publishers out there.

Thanks for all the help in keeping quality publishers alive.
