During a discussion about obesity in comics, David Mack noted:
	In my Daredevil story where it tells the origin of the Kingpin, Fisk is taunted as a kid for being overweight and not fitting in. And he makes a friend of his isolation and eventually turns his weight from from an object of ridicule into an intimidation factor.
