David Mack Guest Curator at NKU Art Show
According to Cincinnati.com, David Mack will serve as a guest curator for Northern Kentucky University's student art show, which will be held at NKU's Fine Arts Center from 9 am to 9 pm Monday to Friday and by appointment (859-572-5418) through April 3.

Surviving Hydrochloric Acid Explosion
In a forum thread about mace, David Mack replied: "Luckily avoided anyone purposely spraying mace in the face - but I once had hydrochloric acid explode in my face."

Upcoming Article on Art Revolution & Lecture
Thanks to Lisa L. Cyr, author of the upcoming book Art Revolution ($17.81 - SRP: $26.99), which will include an interview with David Mack, for sharing the following news about her book:
The Artist's Magazine (June 2009) will feature work from Art Revolution, taking an excerpt from one of the chapters. Many of the works from artists featured in the book will be shown. This four-page feature will be out on newsstands by June 2009, just in time for the release of the book. In addition, a special feature will also appear on the ArtistsNetwork.com in May 2009.

For fans in the NY state and surrounding areas, a lecture is scheduled at Mohawk Valley Community College, Utica NY on April 13, 2009 from 1:00pm to 3:30pm. It is free and open to the public.

About the Lecture: Reinterpret, Reinvent and Redefine is an insightful lecture and highly visual presentation by multimedia artist and author Lisa L. Cyr that will provide valuable knowledge into the ideology behind groundbreaking, multi-media work that is created on the cutting-edge. The work of many of today's leading artists and illustrators will be revealed with exciting behind-the-scene looks that shed light on signature processes and techniques. Two-dimensional, three-dimensional, digital and new media work will be shown in inventive combinations. The lecture will also include a survey of the historical influences behind contemporary thinking and approaches, unfolding the origins of unconventional picture making throughout the decades. The artists to be featured include: Marshall Arisman, Brad Holland, Dave McKean, Barron Storey, David Mack, Kazuhiko Sano, Fred Otnes, Michael Mew, Kathleen Conover, Rudy Gutierrez, Lynne Foster, Lisa L. Cyr, Cynthia von Buhler, Robert Maloney, Susan Leopold, AE Ryan, Matt Manley, Stephanie Dalton Cowan, Richard Tuschman, Dorothy Simpson Krause and Camille Utterback.
