Don’t believe in death as an end. There is no such thing. Believe in new beginnings. Fresh perspectives. Every exit is an entrance somewhere else.

Portland Art Show, New Tori Amos Book & PKD Films
According to the following Floating World Comics press release, which includes information about David Mack's upcoming art show, Mr. Mack is working on a book with musician Tori Amos and collaborating with the Philip K. Dick Estate to adapt Mr. Dick's stories to film:
FLOATING WORLD COMICS PRESENTS:

ALCHEMY: THE ART OF DAVID MACK

This April First Thursday award-winning comic artist/writer David Mack will present a slide show discussion of his Kabuki comics followed by a Q&A session with fans. This will be a great opportunity to explore the themes of storytelling and creativity in Mack’s work. What started as a crime/espionage comic with Japanese assassins and gangsters has developed an experimental meta-narrative with layered, allegorical philosophies about existence, identity, and the creative process itself. We will also present dozens of original pages from his Kabuki series, acclaimed for merging mixed media and fine art techniques with the comics medium.

LISTING INFORMATION:

WHO: David Mack
WHAT: Art exhibit, slide show discussion, Q&A with the artist
WHEN: Thursday, April 2nd, 6-10 pm
WHERE: Floating World Comics, 20 NW 5th Ave #101 Portland, OR 97209

BIO INFORMATION:

David Mack is the creator, author and artist of the KABUKI Graphic Novels, the writer and artist of Daredevil from Marvel Comics, and the author of the children’s book THE SHY CREATURES from MacMillan Publishing.

Mack’s work has garnered nominations for six Eisner Awards, four International Eagle Awards, and both the Harvey and Kirby Awards in the category of Best New Talent, as well as many other national and international awards and nominations.

Mack’s work is the subject of the multi-award winning documentary film: The Alchemy of Art: David Mack. The DVD of the film also includes Mack’s work with Visionairies & Voices, which is a studio for artists with disabilities.

Currently David is working on his next children’s book, a book project with Tori Amos, and working with the Philip K. Dick Estate to adapt Science Fiction Author Philip K. Dick's stories into graphic novels and film.

Also, Jason Leivian of FloatingWorldComics.com has kindly shared that Mr. Mack's artwork will be on display through April 30.

David Mack Artwork in Ken Tanaka Art Show
From Ken Tanaka:
My upcoming show at Billy Shire Fine Arts will open on April 11th and run through May 2nd. I’ve spent the last few months getting things ready. I’m very excited about the show. I will have the wall in the entry way, and the room on the left. I also will be using the patio space for an installation featuring work from other artists from my videos, like Kozyndan, David Mack (creator of Kabuki), Martha Chan, Dominique Fung, Remi February, Pay Katsuyuki, Mayumi Tanaka, Mari Araki, The Gooch, and others. This video shows me meeting Annie A. from BSFA and how I got the show. I hope to see all of you Daily DuJour readers at the opening.

(David Mack - 2m:22s to 2m:25s)
Also, David Mack has kindly reported that artwork will be sent to Mr. Tanaka for his show.

Daredevil: Brian Michael Bendis Omnibus Review
From ComicsBulletin.com:
Before getting stuck into that extended run, however, this omnibus edition goes back a little further than issue #26 - kicking things off with the "Wake Up" storyline that ran in issues #16-19. This Bendis-penned four-parter is illustrated by David Mack, whose distinctive artwork makes good use of watercolour-painted panels and collages (alongside a more traditional style of comics art, courtesy of Joe Quesada) to bring the shifting realities of Bendis's story to life.
