I don't have a style. I never have. If someone looks at one thing I did and decides to call that particular piece 'my style,' that is between them and reality.

Gallery Show in Kentucky
From David Mack:
I'm having a gallery show in October at the main art gallery of the University that I graduated from.

I'll be including lots of original arwork from the Kabuki books and probably some from my DD and Echo stories. As well as other paintings, drawings and the actual kabuki books.

I've been considering a title for the show and I have many possibilites. But for a fresh perspective, I thought I would ask for suggestions for my gallery show from the Kabuki readers on this board.

Please feel free to brainstorm and list anything that you think is appropriate and accessable as a title for the show. Thanks! Don't be shy!

Just looking for some objective opinions.

Upcoming Convention & Speaking Appearances
From David Mack:
My next convention will be the Heroes Con in Charlotte, NC. I will also be at San Diego, The Wizard Chicago Con, Dragon Con in Atlanta, Mid-Ohio Con in November,

The Pop Culture Con in Cincinatti in October; this con will be timed in conjunction with a gallery show of my work at the University I graduated from. My gallery show is about 10 minutes drive from the con and will feature a seminar that I will do with the work.

Check out the appearances part on this site for more details.

For those interested, I will also be the Commencement Speaker at the graduation ceremony on June 5 at the High School I graduated from.

Kabuki Movie Update
Per David Mack:
Because of confidentiality clauses, I am not able to give you any inside scoop on the Kabuki film stuff. Kabuki is currently under option and developement at Fox. All I'm able to say is in what context I have worked for them on the project.

Besides Writing the Treatment, I also have been working as VIsual Designer, Creative Consultant and Co-Producer.

When I am able to say more, I will.

Creating Characters & Appearing in Comic Books
When asked if he created any other characters besides Echo and the cast in Kabuki, David Mack explained:
Yeah, the Kabuki stuff and Echo, and the other new characters in my DD [Daredevil] runs are the only characters that I would care to mention. Although I have had some behind-the-scenes influence on some other things.

As a side note, I've made some appearances as myself in a couple books. There is Detective David Mack in Powers. And Oeming drew a story with him, I, and Bendis in a recent Oni publication.

And besides being my model for Kabuki, my girlfriend, Anh Tran, has had other characters based on her and named after her in other books. The Tran in Daredevil Ninja, the girl in Oeming's Bastard Samurai, and the Captain Anh Tran in the new Terminator comic book written by Ivan Brandon were named after her.

And Andy Lee has appreared in the original Bullet Proof Monk comic as well as Powers and many others. If you've met him, you can spot him!
