Perhaps creating keeps you young. There is no time when you are in the creating space. The more of this world’s time that you spend there, the less you age.

I love you guys...

Hi Adam,
I really appreciate your concern about my concentration on my own work. Believe me, I'm on your side about that. And it is good to hear that you look at things the same way and are looking forward to my new Kabuki series and other self generated projects. Let me clarify some things before someone gets the wrong idea.

The facts are this:
They asked me to write a one shot. I said that I'm not able to do so right now as I'm in the middle of prior commitments and working on my Kabuki series and other projects will have me booked up for at least another year. But I said that I could possibly do a cover for them as I read GI Joe when I was a kid and it may be cool to do a cover. They asked if they could use my name in thier announcement since I said I could at least do a cover, and I said yes. They are good guys and when my schedule allows, it could be a fun think to do a cover for a book I read when I was a kid.

That's all. If I do end up doing a cover, rest assured that it will not detract me from my previous commitments to my own projects. Rest assured that I will continue to put my time and effort and focus on the projects that I am passionate about. And I really appreciate that you are with me on this.

Just so you know, I get tons of offers to do extremely high profile books that I turn down everyday because I need to focus on my own work. Titles that are much more mainstream and high profile than Kabuki, and jobs that would generate much more income than Kabuki (i'm not going to name them, because I am grateful and appreciative that I was offered, and I do not want this to seem like a dis or a condescension to those that were kind enough to offer to me). But ultimately I need to work on the stuff that I am personal and passionate about. Occasionally, between the Kabuki series' I may have time to try some other projects like I did with Kabuki, and some of my other cover work, but I want you to know that I know where my priorities are.

Best,

David
