Too bad I'm a bit far from there, I'm up here in Québec, Canada... any plans to come over in the near future? I'll probably be at San Diego next year though...
I'll be at San Diego too. Stop by and introduce yourself.

I'd like to attend the Toronto Convention next year if possible. I'll keep you posted if I get an invitation to a con in Quebec.

*smiles*

thanks, David.

I picked up the first two volumes [of Kabuki] and devoured them this evening (before going to see harry potter). i loved them.

just another wee note: as to understanding the fifth book more, it was very easy to understand (which is rare in the middle of a series). congrats on a book well-written enough to stand on its own.

Thanks a bunch. I really appreciate it.

Part of that understanding business is in referrence to volume 4 KABUKI Skin Deep. That is the series that introduces the Akemi character. How you interperet the Akemi Character in Skin Deep may have an effect on how you view the story in Metamorphosis.

The Akemi character is someone who cannot be catagorized in conventional terms, and thus the story has two drastically different realities (both very different, but each valid) depending on how you personally percieve that character from her introduction.

Let me know what you think of Skin Deep. It is also very important in that it introduces the Kageko character (the replacement Kabuki) and foreshadows the end of Metamorphosis.

Best,

David

that's a very interesting point. how do *you* perceive these two realities?
I see them both as real. Akemi is all about non catagorization and non-lables, and MULTI-DIMENSIONALITY.

So the story is MULTI-DIMENSIONAL (and it can't be pinned down into one shape) just like her origami.
