Meta Hard cover update
WED, 11/15/00, 10:37 p.m.

Well here is the latest reason that the printer gave me today.
As Ron earlier posted, the [Metamorphosis] book has been bumped a week.
I was told that the book has been printed and bound and that the dustjacket has also been printed but that the dustjacket was printed at the wrong size in the spine area and did not properly fit the book.

So in order for them to make new film of the spine/dustjacket and print it again, it will take another week.

I don't really understand all these complications, but I guess there is some kind of rocket science involved and ocassionally some miscomunications between the printer (in Canada) and the color seperator (in New York), not to mention that things must also be coordinated with Image (in California) and me (in my secret cave in the woods of Kentucky).

I've just bought all kinds of computor, moniter, printer, jumbo scanner, etc, so I can try to simplify this process for my future books. I guess from now on, I'll try to learn all this computer stuff and scan everything myself so I can send it to the printer on a simple disc in hopes that we can save a lot of time and confusion, and I will know exactly how everything will print... as opposed to approving the color seperations from New York, and then approving the Printing from Canada, even though they somehow changed colors in between. This kind of stuff is very frustrating for me.
