![]() "I've always seen comics as a hybrid medium," said David Mack, creator of the graphic novel series Kabuki. "It's the closest to rock 'n' roll, which is itself a blend of different music styles. In comics, one person, a creator, can take a singular vision to a mass audience... That's why I always see Hollywood looking at comics to pull material from."
(yea, i copied and pasted it from davidmackguide) comics to rock n roll? never thought of it that way, but you hit the nail on the head. Tess/mg |

That's a snippet from an interview I did with a daily newspaper when I was in LA. Glad you like it, though they didn't print the analogy in it's entiretly. Glad the essence still stood out for you.

![]() I'd like to read the full quote too; I'm a relative newcomer to Mack's work, but what I've seen of his work it's clear that his work draws from a variety of different influences and creates an entirely unique piece of work in every issue of Kabuki.

![]() Definately agreeing with you Firebrand. MG can attest to how little I'm see of Mack's work but I'm already in love with it. Certainly gives me something to aspire towards. And I'm glad I'm not the only one drawing the line between music and comics.
